Biography for Katherine Blagden

Biography
Born in Chicago, my childhood years were spent in Toronto, Canada & Mexico City; hence my fluency in Spanish. I also have resided in Cincinnati, Boulder, Winston-Salem & Tucson. I graduated from the University of Colorado, with Honors, in 1977, receiving a BA in Communication with a Minor in Conflict Resolution. Married to photographer Joseph Blagden in 1979, we came to Santa Fe in 1983. Here we have raised our three children; Jackson, Bonar & Wyndham, and I found great satisfaction being extremely involved as an educational activist & fundraiser for both public & private schools. I now serve on the Buckaroo Ball Committee, raising funds for the at risk children of Santa Fe County.

Area of Expertise
As president of parent groups for 3 different schools over the past 16 years, and the chair of 8 auctions; my organizational, multitasking, negotiating and people skills have been well honed helping me to achieve much success in the raising of over $300,000 in contributions for the benefit of Santa Fe school children. I currently serve on the Buckaroo Ball Committee which grants funds to at-risk SF County children. The vision & leadership I provide translates well into the multidimensional world of Real Estate. Combining my multicultural background, many close personal contacts and organizational skills, I look forward to providing my clients with a very special service, insight & perspective.

After 6 years in the business, I was in the top 5 Santa Fe realtors for sales in the first quarter of 2009; a difficult quarter! I really love what I do both from a human relationship point of view, as well as from the knowledge and expertise of Santa Fe homes required to close the deal. I take great pride and satisfaction in a job well done, and conduct my life and my business in the pursuit of excellence.

I love living here because it is the closest one can get to living abroad within the United States. The extent & quality of choices for a "small town" is awesome fine arts, performing arts, museums, archeological sites & great shopping. All this, and no traffic jams! Being an avid hiker, New Mexico is a hiker's haven, with the beauty & spirit of the land on every walk.
