Amanda Assaf grew up in real estate. Born in Kansas, to Lebanese and American parents, she cut her teeth in the family real estate brokerage, handling everything from property management to sales. From summers in Santa Fe to winters in Taos, she also inherited her parents passion for Northern New Mexico - the place she now calls home.
Amanda brings to Sothebys International Realty a wealth of experience, from her international upbringing and cultural breadth to her lifelong curiosity. Beginning her career with the family brokerage, she has retained the values that earned her the loyalty of her first clients: warmth, kindness, and close personal attention. Amanda is a master at negotiation and has an intuitive understanding of the real estate business.
Along the way, Amanda has pursued her many passions. Holding a masters degree in anthropology, she has a deep appreciation of the rich history of the region and the cultures that have contributed to it. This includes not only art and architecture, but jewelry as well. Indeed, as the founder of her own line of jewelry, she has turned a passion into a business. In addition to designing and silversmithing at her Lena Street studio, Amanda is an ally of the arts in Santa Fe with close ties to numerous cultural institutions, including the Georgia OKeeffe Museum and its historic properties.
Amanda is a connoisseur of the regions spas and hot springs and has a deep appreciation for the Northern New Mexico landscape. On hikes throughout New Mexico, and beyond, she and her fiance are joined (not to say led) by their Shiba Inu, Koji. Her love for nature, wellness, and community has also led Amanda to pursue graduate training in preventative medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, as well as trainings in holistic wellness practices such as mindfulness, reiki, and yoga from the Mindfulness Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
